FAQs

As a homeowner what do I need to do before having my pool closed?

Please ensure that the outdoor water is turned on and that we have access to the yard, pool cover and water bags if applicable.  It is recommended that you do clean your pool prior to closure.  Our crews will scoop out larger debris if necessary but a full cleaning is not part of the closing process unless you have been a regular maintenance customer.

Does someone need to be home?

We don't require anyone to be home as long as we have the necessary access.

Do you add any chemicals at closing?

No we do not.  If your pool has been properly maintained during the season the water chemistry should be balanced already.  Save your $$ and use any leftover chemicals during springtime!

Are there any additional costs that could arise at closing?

If you require winterizing plugs or additional water bags they will automatically be installed and invoices for at costs indicated above unless specifically requested not to.

How do I know nothing will go wrong over the winter?

Our staff are highly trained have many years of experience closing pools. You can be assured that your pool will be winterized properly. Our company is also fully insured and we guarantee our work.  Should there ever be an oversight on our part and any equipment is damaged, we will cover the expense to repair or replace.

Do you build pools, install liners or do concrete work?

Unfortunately not. Rich and Jay's Pool Service is currently operating solely as a pool service company.  Our priority is providing the best pool service Winnipeg has to offer.  We work closely with other  reputable companies that we can recommend for any service we do not provide.
