FAQs

As a homeowner what do I need to do before having my pool opened?

Please ensure that the outdoor water is turned on and that we have access to the yard, pool equipment and to the pool parts that were removed during the pool closing.

Does someone need to be home?

We don't require anyone to be home as long as we have the necessary access.

Why don't you add chemicals at pool openings?

Pool water should circulate for 24 hours before adding any chemicals as this is the truest way to know what the waters chemistry is at.

What if there is something wrong with my equipment or my pool has a leak?

Our technicians will communicate anything they discover, advise on how to proceed and how to book the necessary service call.

How do i tell if/where my pool has a leak?

The best way to determine if your pool is leaking is to mark your water level at night and check it the next day.  If the water level goes down, mark it again then turn your system off. If the water level goes down again it is most likely a leak in the liner and we will arrange a diver and liner patch.  If the water does not change after night 2 then we will arrange a pressure test to determine if it is in the pool lines.

Do you build pools, install liners or do concrete work?

Unfortunately not. Rich and Jay's Pool Service is currently operating solely as a pool service company.  Our priority is providing the best pool service Winnipeg has to offer.  We work closely with other  reputable companies that we can recommend for any service we do not provide.
